Meet Michael Chang

I'm Michael, and my kitchen is almost always covered in a light dusting of flour. I grew up in a household where fruit was the default dessert, which naturally made me obsessed with all things baked, buttery, and sweet. I started baking in college as a way to de-stress from exams, and before long, my tiny dorm kitchen was churning out birthday cakes for everyone I knew.

My Background & Expertise

Though my background is in engineering, my heart has always been in the bakery. I apply my analytical mindset to recipe testing, baking a single chocolate chip cookie recipe sometimes twenty times just to get the exact chewy-to-crispy ratio. I've spent the last decade reading pastry textbooks and mastering home baking techniques so that you don't have to guess.
