Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup (165g) packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Stir in the eggs one at a time, then fold in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed or by hand until just combined; do not over-mix.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips by hand.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough and place them 2 inches apart on parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, removing them when the edges are golden but the centers still look slightly soft and wet.
- Allow cookies to cool on the pan for 5–10 minutes to finish setting.
