Ingredients:
- 1 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 13x18 inch rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper, ensuring the paper reaches up the sides of the pan.
- Whisk the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a large bowl until smooth and caramel-colored.
- Stir in the eggs and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
- Fold in the flour, baking soda, and salt using a spatula, stirring only until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Fold in the chocolate chips last.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan using a spatula, pushing firmly into the corners.
- Bake for 18–22 minutes, until the edges are a deep mahogany-colored brown while the center still looks slightly under-set.
- Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt if using.
