Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 ½ cups (300g) dark brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup (100g) granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 2 tsp (10ml) vanilla extract
- 3 cups (375g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- ½ tsp (3g) salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips or chunks
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, dark brown sugar, and granulated white sugar together until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed or by hand until no more streaks of white flour are visible; do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets, leaving 2 inches of space between each cookie.
- Bake for 9–11 minutes, removing them when the edges are golden brown but the centers still look slightly soft.
