Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened (225g)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (200g)
  • 1 large egg, room temperature (50g)
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract (10ml)
  • 2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour (340g)
  • 1 tsp baking soda (5g)
  • ½ tsp salt (3g)
  • 1 ½ cups mini semi-sweet chocolate chips (255g)
  • ¼ cup powdered sugar for rolling (30g)

Instructions:

  1. Beat the softened butter and granulated sugar together on medium-high speed until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
  2. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract until fully emulsified and smooth.
  3. Sift together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  4. Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients on low speed, mixing only until the last streak of flour disappears.
  5. Gently fold in the mini semi-sweet chocolate chips using a spatula.
  6. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough, roll each ball in powdered sugar, and place them 2 inches apart on a lined baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 8–10 minutes until the edges are barely golden, then allow to cool on a wire rack.
