Ingredients:
- 115g unsalted butter, softened
- 100g packed light brown sugar
- 50g granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 5ml pure vanilla extract
- 190g all-purpose flour
- 3g baking soda
- 1.5g salt
- 170g semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and white sugar until the mixture is pale and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and velvety.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently with a spatula or spoon just until the flour streaks disappear.
- Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough (about 1.5 inches in diameter) onto the prepared sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8 minutes until the edges are set and golden, but the centers still look slightly soft.
- Let the cookies rest on the hot baking sheet for 5 minutes to allow the centers to set, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
