Ingredients:
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 2 tbsp packed light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg yolk, room temperature
- 1/4 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/8 tsp baking soda
- 1 pinch fine sea salt
- 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Stir together the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar in a small mixing bowl until the mixture looks like a smooth paste.
- Whisk in the egg yolk and vanilla extract until the batter is glossy and well-combined.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Fold the mixture gently with a spatula just until no streaks of white flour remain.
- Gently stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop the dough into 4 equal balls (about 2 tablespoons each) and place them on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 9–11 minutes. Remove when edges are golden-brown but centers still look slightly underbaked.
