Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted (225g)
  • 2 cups granulated sugar (400g)
  • 4 large eggs (200g)
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract (10ml)
  • 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (75g)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour (125g)
  • 1/2 tsp salt (3g)
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder (1g)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x9 inch square baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, whisking vigorously after each addition until the batter looks glossy and smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Using a spatula, gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet base until no streaks of flour remain, being careful not to overmix.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  7. Bake for 22–25 minutes until the edges are slightly puffed and pull away from the sides, but the center still has a slight wobble.
  8. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan to ensure the fudgy center sets.
