Ingredients:
- 1 cup (225g) unsalted butter, browned and slightly cooled
- 1 cup (200g) brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated white sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tbsp (15ml) vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups (280g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp (5g) baking soda
- 1/2 tsp (3g) sea salt
- 2 cups (340g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tsp flaky sea salt
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- Whisk the browned butter with brown and white sugars until smooth, then beat in the eggs and vanilla extract one at a time until glossy.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Use a spatula to fold the mixture until just combined, then stir in the chocolate chips.
- Transfer the dough to the prepared pan and press it evenly across the bottom, ensuring it reaches every corner.
- Bake for 18-22 minutes until the edges are mahogany gold and the center is slightly under-set.
- Immediately sprinkle with flaky sea salt and let the pan cool completely for at least 30 minutes before lifting and slicing.
