Ingredients:
- 115g unsalted butter, softened
- 150g brown sugar, packed
- 50g granulated white sugar
- 1 large egg, room temperature
- 5ml vanilla extract
- 250g all-purpose flour
- 5g baking soda
- 3g salt
- 340g semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter and both sugars together until the mixture looks pale and fluffy.
- Stir in the egg and vanilla extract until the batter is smooth and velvety.
- Sift in the flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir gently with a spoon or spatula just until the white streaks of flour disappear.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed.
- Scoop rounded tablespoons of dough onto a lined baking sheet, spacing them 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes until the edges are a deep golden brown but the centers still look slightly underbaked.
- Remove from the oven and let the cookies firm up on the hot pan.
