Description

This Dirt Cake Recipe is a fun, no-bake dessert that’s perfect for any occasion. With layers of creamy vanilla pudding, crushed Oreo cookies, and playful gummy worms, this treat will delight both kids and adults. It’s easy to make and perfect for parties, picnics, or as an after-dinner treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package of Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 1 package of instant vanilla pudding mix (3.4 oz)
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 cup of whipped cream or whipped topping
  • 1 package of gummy worms (for garnish)
  • 1/4 cup of butter (optional, for extra flavor in crust)
  • 1/2 cup of powdered sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Oreo Crust:

    • Crush the Oreos into small crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing them with a rolling pin. Set aside.
  2. Make the Pudding Layer:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix and 2 cups of milk. Whisk for about 2 minutes until it thickens.
  3. Mix Whipped Cream:

    • Gently fold the whipped cream into the pudding mixture to create a creamy, smooth texture.
  4. Assemble the Dirt Cake:

    • In a large dish (or individual cups), layer the crushed Oreos at the bottom. Then, add a layer of the creamy pudding mixture on top. Repeat layers until the dish is filled, finishing with a layer of Oreo crumbs on top.
  5. Garnish:

    • Add gummy worms on top to give it that classic dirt cake look.
  6. Chill:

    • Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to let the layers set.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a bit of butter or powdered sugar to the crust.
  • This recipe can easily be doubled for a larger crowd.
  • Refrigerating overnight makes the flavors even better.
